The department of information Technology started in year 2000. The department offers IT courses to the students by maintaining equilibrium between software and hardware subjects. The thrust of software subject is on Internet and Web based technologies and thrust of hardware courses mainly on network & communication technology

Apart from the regular academic activities the deptt. also conducts projects on website development for the institute. A very huge project on networking supported by TEQIP, World Bank and the deptt. also extends the faculty of intend use to all academic deptt. laboratories,hostels and faculty quarters.

• To provide continuous and quality feedback about latest developments in software and electronics technologies :

  The department has fully developed Internet Lab, software Development Lab, Information System Lab, Computer graphics Lab, UNIX & LINUX Lab, Database Management Lab with all supported softwares. The deptt. Also extends Internet Services to all students through ISDN line provided by BSNL India. Deptt. has four services equipped with different operating system and softwares such as LINUX, UNIX, Solaris, Windows NT, Windows, Java, Oracle(RDBMS) 10i, Developee 200, C++/C, Visual Basic, ASP, SQL Servee etc.

  Under the guidience of season faculty, student of Information Technology Department developes temperament and character in such a way that they easily sail through GATE, GRE and CAT. Furthure Electronics & Communication Department running a branch council "SCOIT"which is taking initiatives to provide environment to student so that they can do well in corporate sector.

• Campus Placements :

  Students of Information Technology Department come in contact of various big and small famous and lesser known, Software Companies and most of the time they are able to leave their mark on that company. As a result their are great chances of companies visiting the campus and the students concerned or related with that company surely gets selected
